Late Last year my prosthetic knee dislocated and chipped my Femur. I was admitted to hospital as an emergency and was told that I required an operation to correct the problem otherwise I would probably not walk again. The operation that was required was complicated and involved major reconstruction of the existing prosthetic knee thus saving the leg from amputation. I understand this was a ground breaking operation for Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon and was performed by Mr Ali Ghoz of the orthopaedic Department. I am now well and truly recovering.

I recently had an Anterior Hip Replacement performed by Professor Ghoz. The pre and post operative ssurance, care and treatment by Professor Ghoz was so professional. The operation was really successful,only 2 nights in hospital, hardly any post operative pain and I was able to walkaround the house without crutches or sticks after just 5 days After only 5 weeks it was possible to resume normal activities including longer walks and golf. A huge thank you to Professor Ghoz, a remarkable surgeon

I encouraged my wide to go under the knife for her knee replacement surgery but did not know what to expect. I expressed my apprehension but your calm and confident dispositon gave us the courage to go through with it.

I am really sorry for this very belated thank you.
My mum has been meaning to do this every day but she has finally asked me to write to you to convey her thanks. Our situation was far from ideal when we first met and from the first appointment to the last (so far) things have been mabaged with great care and professionalism.
There is still a way to go in her recovery but the fact that she is currently on a cruise in South American speaks very well of hos tings have gone. This is beyond expectations to say the least.
I’d like to offer my sincere thanks and gratitude from myself and all the family as well as from my mum for your kindness and reassurance and of course, your expertise in puttin gher back together.

My name is Ian Hook & I consider myself very fortunate to still be alive. To try to fix an
ongoing problem with my right leg, I decided to go private & self-pay for a further
consultation, involving an MRI scan which I felt was necessay. I got a next day appointment
on Thursday, March 7, with Professor Ali Ghoz &, while in his office, I was violently sick
which led to Professor Ghoz admitting me to Intensive Care where it was discovered that my
kidneys & diabetes were out of control & I nearly died. If I had been anywhere else, it’s scary
to think what might have happened!
I spent a bit over a week in your hospital & the care & help I received was something to
savour. EVERYBODY I came into contact with, from senior doctors to nursing staff to
catering & pharmacy staff to the maintenance guys & my dietary & diabetes advisors, were
fabulous & I shall forever be in their debt. I could name people here but prefer to lump
everyone in together as they all played their parts in getting me back from a very dire
situation.
I would very much appreciate it if you can please pass on my eternal thanks to every
department in your wonderful hospital.

currently pretty much in remission – my PET scan shows no markers compared to 2
